Hey Guys

I had something strange happen to me yesterday with the clifford 50.7X remote starter and alarm and I was wondering if you can give some advice on it. Yesterday evening I started the truck fine but when I got to it, it would not open, everytime i pressed door open, it would give me a out of range signal even when I was standing right next to the truck. I thought it could be that the signal was not picking up because the truck was a bit dirty even on the windshield where the antena is but I cleaned it and it still would not give me a signal. So I had to open the door manually setting off the alarm and insert the key into the ignition and reset it, i also placed the alarm in valet mode so that as to disable the alarm. Do you know what could have caused this? This was somewhat of a same problem as before with a autopage unit, could it be the bypass kit?

Two different systems and two different shops did each install. I dont know what else could it be?

Type of car: 2000 Nissan Pathfinder

Thanks

Is the remote working now? I've had similar units drop remotes out of memory before as well as the remotes just randomly stop working.

Sounds like a faulty unit or maybe a bad antenna or antenna cable. Could also be a faulty remote. I haven't had a single issue with the Viper version.... the 5901. I would take it back to where you bought it and have them swap out the unit, remote and antenna. That's something really easy for the shop to try 1st. If you still have problems then they are going to have to try and diagnose the problem. It may just be those units have that problem..... so swapping out for another 50.7X may not do the trick. But definitely take it back to the shop. I would just throw a new system on it for you at my shop and let you take it and see how it does.

Broadfield, thanks for the info but the issue is with two different systems and two differen shops did the installation...

I wonder if it could have been interference because I was parked in a very busy underground parking lot

Nope, the bypass kit is only for the immobilizer key. That would have nothing to do with the system not responding. Take it back to the shop plain and simple...... this shouldn't even be a question!

Funny you mention this... its your remote! Clifford is a DE copany just like Viper, internals on the alarms, remotes, and antennas are all the same, just a different face on the outside! Its not the alarm, its the remote. THey will need to reprogram your remote to the alarm unit.

After 1 year, my autopage RS-1000 remote just started to act up and do this exact same thing to me last week. Taking it back to the shop and getting it reset next week!
