so i put my battery in the trunk using 14ish feet of 2 gauge wire... i used a 150 amp circuit breaker with the power on one sie, and all the old connections from the positive side on the other.. i regrounded the chassis in the front, and i grounded the battery in the back to the side panel... i didnt use a wire brush or scrape off any paint, but some random times my car will make weird noises while starting, and when i shift gears or flip the lights on the stereo will turn off... and now when i flip my high beams on the entire car loses power for a teeny tiny bit, like enough to cut the engine off and turn off all cabin lighting.. its so short its almost like "woah did that just happen?"

what did i do wrong? did i kill my alternator?

To start off with, you always want to ground to bare metal.... no paint! 2nd, do you have a multi meter? You could test your resistance to ground to see if indeed your grounding point is a good one. Anything is possible..... you could have a faulty circuit breaker where it is not allowing current to flow properly. If you have a meter, you can test your alternator while the vehicle is running. It should read about 14 volts when running and 12ish volts when not running. This isn't a fail proof test as sometimes the alternator will still put out proper voltage, but not flow the proper current. But almost 100% of the time when a alternator goes bad it just doesn't have any voltage output at all...... so usually the voltage test will suffice.
