I see, so I guess I'm wrong then...:( it's just that it's close to 3mm which is ~1/8 of an inch. For some reason that's seems awfully thick to crack.

The way it was advertised clouded my judgement. I'm sorry for my previous comments....live and learn.

you know, if i had the option of purchasing a stainless steel manifold that was that thick...i'd opt for a cheaper thick walled mild steel version. stainless steel needs to be able to expand. should it be very thin? no. but imo, once it gets as thick as the one pictured, my money could be better spent elsewhere. i bet that thing weighs a ton. thickness alone doesn't determine if a manifold will crack or not. design plays a bigger factor.

full-race builds a high quality piece, but not everyone...correction...hardly anyone is going to spend $1200 for a turbo manifold.

Well, it's not incredibly thick, but it's not all that thin either. It could certainly be thinner! That pic from full race is not showing a 2.8 vs. 4mm thick pipe, thats something different...

that's what i was thinking too. the thin tubing is supposed to represent a kiwi or kooks manifold, but i have no idea how thick their manifolds are.

Indeed, a 4mm thick wall is only 30% thicker than a 2.8mm, that looks more like 60-75% thicker.

if i could recall correctly, the picture shows a 16 gauge vs 8 gauge piping.

i hate to discourage you all, but at that price, give it a try--"live and learn" ;)

Update, AceinHole is using an sr20 manifold from ssautochrome in his KA, (of course he weld a flange). He has pulled 230+ hp out of guess what? a t-25, check info on this thread http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....ber=1 scroll down.

So I guess these manifolds are of good quality, and if we can use the sr ones, .....hehe....well you get the point!

I've seen that manifold on ebay and thought it looked quite nice. Judging by the welds, overall finish, and materials used...and keeping in mind the picture is of a prototype, I gather a few things...1. There's a good bit of time, research, and design behind it2. Whoever is making it can offer it cheap b/c of low overhead, probably an enthusiast like us that enjoys fabrication the same as I do :)3. The welds are quality TIG welds, notice the "row of nickels" look on the welds. Someone takes pride in their work and took the time to do it right.

I would definitly buy this manifold. If I land this 2nd job soon, I WILL buy this manifold.

cory...maybe you missed my prev. post. AceinHole made the sr manifold work in his ka. For 175 to your door...it's a hell of a deal.

I emailed the group buy guy from this page: http://www.planb-attack.com/kyle/group-buy.htm to see what the status was on getting those KA-T manis on the market.

Here's his reply

Quote »Sorry about the delay in the manifold. I just got another manifold this past weekend and there was one thing that needed to be corrected. The company is making a new manifold ASAP and will be air shipping it to me. I expect it to be here REALLY soon, then i can install it and make sure everything fits fine. I will report back shortly to inform everyone the status once the new (hopefully last) manifold arrives. Thanks,Kyle [/quote]So yup.

Well, I've only had the manifold on for like a week. No problems yet.... we'll see how it goes during autox.

Also found out my air filter was clogged as hell (CAI in snow = whoa). I cleaned it off and replaced some of my hotpipe.... am now flowing 5 - 10% more air according to the S-AFC. I dyno again in March.... expecting 250+

hehe...thanks ace for the info....I thought you had it longer. So how hard was it to reflange the thing?

reflanging it wasn't bad. it'll be easier if you extend the runners slightly so that you can use a stock SR O2 housing and downpipe. I screwed mine up and it didn't clear by about .5" to 1". So, extending the runners means a bit more welding, but the thing is, it'll be easier to get the welder's tip in there, so it's not a bad idea anyways (on mine the space was tight). I'd expect a good shop to be able to cut, extend, and reflange for $150 or so.

from your imagestation pics, there doesn't look like much room between the compressor housing and the block. does this kill any chance of running say a t04b/e compressor?

where are pics at? also, is there decent room between the manifold and brake booster? even if you were to extend the runners? great job on your whole set-up Ace. its very interesting
