So, kinda random.. But I am rebuilding my transmission and need a new short shifter. Money is getting kinda tight and I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with the Isis short throw shifter. B&M has a great reputation, so I am not to concerned with opinions on that particular shifter. I was just wondering if the Isis is worth the money.

I am not looking for replies by people who have no experience with the Isis shifter. So please don't blow me up with BS about ish that just a bunch of opionated crap...That said, any serious input would be GREATLY appreceated.

Thanks in advance!

I had a short shifter, it was cool for a few weeks, then I hated it for the next few months, I felt like I was forcing it into every gear and killing my synchros.I had a Megan Racing one, identical to the Isis one.

I switched back to an OEM shifter that I rebuilt, and I love that more than my old Megan short shifter.

If your budget is tight, just stick with your OEM one and rebuild it.If I had to choose again, I'd go with an OEM rebuilt shifter rather than a short shifter.

I've had the OEM one, and a cheap short throw. The OEM one broke in several areas though, and is more expensive than the short throws. I just don't trust some one elses used junk and I live in an area that serioulsy lacks in the junkyard department... All Chevy's and Jeeps...

i have the megan version 1 but it leaks bad threw the top and im always filling my fluid witch is kinda pain in the a**. i know bnm is good but expensive and will not leak but i just placed an order and the isis shifter is on my list. i got a buddy who just got his and it seems to bee good he hasnt installed it yet but i cant see it being that bad im also going to try a coupple of other isis things and see how they hold up. there just aother company like megan but its cheeper. sometimes i think your mostly paying for the name altho i know you are going to get way better quality but its a shifter i cant see it being that bad.

Alot of isis stuff is good, enjuku runs alot of their products and doesn't have any issues. Even their turbo is holding up very well

I'm rockin the ISIS shifter. I like it, I don't have much experience with short shifters so I can't really compare it to anything. My friend's Kouki had a B&M, it certainly didn't have any awesome advantages that I would spend the extra money on. One problem I did have, was with the small plastic bushing at the end... I destroyed that after one night of raping my friend's Integra. I would buy the metal Cusco one from FRSport, or re-use the stock one (what I did).

EDIT: To directly answer your question, yes it's worth the money in my opinion.

I have a B&M.... first thing i can say is replace the bushing it comes with, with an OEM one $3.. it'll reduce the play that the s***ty B&M bushing has and if you dont replace it the shifter will make a crazy vibration sound at high rpms. If you arent deliberate with the shifts you can miss 3rd, I guess the best way to describe is it feels notchy. I do like it tho. It feels solid if im ripping gears tho.

i did have an issue with fluid building up on top of the shifter but it might have been from the vent tube that is on top of the transmission, i ended up putting a rubber hose on the vent and never checked for fluid build up again lol..

ok so my buddy got the shifter in his car and it works great he put on the oem bushing on the bottom of the shifter and i like it better then my megan shifter defanatly work the price you pay plus the isis one doesnt leav like the other random short shifters that you have to assemble.
