Why do you even ask? You just want to hear the answer you want which is buy the ISIS cause it's cheaper.

Thread Title is awesome, actual content sucks.

This would be a cool thread to discuss the comparison between the two.

I have an Ebay radiator/fans/shroud that I picked up for $200 shipped, 10k miles later and no problems.

i have ran a Koyo R Core radiator for my KA and i never had a single heating issue. You get what you pay for...sometimes. But with cooling being a very important factor with your cars performance now and later (boosting) you might as well buy the radiator that will perform well for the long run. It wouldnt make much sense to get the cheap one, have it fail and then buy the Koyo later...Get the koyo and some flex a lite #420 fans. Best setup IMO.

There was a test done with different fans. I just can't find the link anymore. The stock fan clutch with shroud outperformed all the electric fans. That's why I run a Koyo radiator with the stock shroud and fan.

the stock fan shroud and fan out performs electric fans....but you only need a fan when you're sitting still like in traffic. once the car is moving faster than like 30 mph the fan isn't doing anything anyway so unless you're having overheating issues while parked what difference does it make?

not quite what you are looking for , but my car ran cooler with my koyo, my CXracing radiator is smaller and not as efficient, but it was a cheap back up till I repair the koyo.

I guess you've never overheated a motor before.

actually I have, but only twice. the first time the plastic on my stock radiator dry rotted and cracked. the second time I was just driving around town and started running really hot intermittently, seemed to happen at stoplights. when I pulled over to check the engine the problem was one of the terminals on my electric fan controller had corroded and wasn't making good contact(I was living in hawaii at the time, that s*** can happen overnight there).

I had my electrical kit in the car so wasn't a big deal to fix. but the point is just getting up to cruising speed for like 15 seconds between lights was doing as much as the fan was ever doing. Never overheated on the track, however I will concede that if you're getting into some serious sideways action you might not have the airflow going into the front of the car from...well...being sideways, and the better flow from the stock fan might be nice to have there.

if the difference in overheating vs not overheating is so close that electric vs stock fans and shroud are the determining factor, I'd say you need to look into upgrading your whole cooling system though.

Mishimoto, Koyo, Mizu. All work well.
Never had experience with ISIS.
Stock clutch fan + shroud FTW :)

One of our trusted, long time advertisers told me that the Mishimotos and Isis' are identical and it'd be hardpress to believe they weren't made in the same factory. I'm going to try out an Isis when I repair the front end.

What are your HP goals?
What modifications do you have?
What type of driving are you planning on doing? DD, track, drift, drag?
I trust enjuku and therefore I trust Isis products, as long as they are properly installed and everything is working correctly on your build you should have no problem. Now that said, i would never trust an offbrand over a tomei or greddy...so
I run an sr20det s14 with a koyo and electric fans and I never overheat. Koyo is a great radiator, and it does a good job with a fan and a shroud or electric fans.

Keep in mind your overall goals and build accordingly

Buy the ISIS
quit over analyzing.
ISIS, Mishimoto both in the same price range/quality. I know guys that slide 3-4 times a month with Mishimoto rads, and 2 electric fans.

all this Brand-name/generic talk is getting old.. fast.

You don't rock name brands to be a "baller"(although I'm sure some do) You buy them for their quality, reputation, and engineering. Radiators are more technical than most believe. Not all radiators are a bunch of copper tubing made in S shapes and slapped inside the fins. There's a lot that goes on inside. Things that deal with fluid dynamics as well as thermodynamics.

The same can apply to a lot of brand name items on the market for cars. But yes some things are just mumbo jumbo.

I'm running a cheapo ebay radiator with altima fans, alty fans flow way more air on low than most of the aftermarket electric fans can period, in the summer it likes to get up to 210+ and hover there while running down the interstate at anything over 70. I'm going to eventually ditch the cheapo rad and alty fans in favor of a stock fan and shroud with a koyo.

With as good as the alty fans are they still won't do as good as a stock belt fan and shroud, and I'm afraid that when I get the a/c going the car is going to be prone to overheating whenever it is running. Its either the belt fan and shroud, or I'm going to just hack up the core support and do a v-mount setup.
