I heard it drives with all wheels only when bad weather causes bad road condition. How do I know whether its driving with all wheels or rear wheels when im driving?

It is pretty much automatic. The system is set up to transfer power automatically to the wheel/axle that needs it.

Upto 50% of the power can be sent to the front wheel, and then, if the traction control system detects wheel slip, it automatically applies the brakes to that wheel and transfer power to the other side.

Look at http://www.M35forum.com - part of the NICO umbrella - (under the Technology link under AWD) for a better description. The Owner's Manual and Service Manual also has information.

it turns on whenever it detects wheel slip, but if you really want to make sure it's in awd mode, if you have a 06 and up m35x press the snow button
