I am looking to buy this 1990 z32 na for $3500 Was wondering what everyone thought or if anyone could give me some insight. It feels like a pretty good deal to me, but I'm sure you guys will know more than I do what I'm getting into.

Everything it needs:
Injectors wires (which is included with the car) - not right away, car seemed to run at 90% with how they are now
Accelerator is sticky (pretty sure its just the linkage from sitting for 4 months, will put some pb blaster on it)
Tires
Alignment
Windows rattle
Seats - not a big deal
Door Panel, just a nickel size hole in the drivers - not a big deal

Thoughts? Worth it or not? I shook him on $3500, but I'm starting to think for $3500 I could maybe fine another with time :gotme

Couple questions;

1) Where is it located? Every city has different pricing on these cars, some higher some lower.

2)Have you car-fax the car? Is there any accidents, maintenance history and so on.

3)How many miles?

4) Does he have a history of maintenance?

These should be the basics, but ultimately, its your decision. There have been a lot of people that still end up getting the car even when most people tell them they should wait. Just remember, you will probably need 500-1000 in parts for the car that will go out or may go out. First thing I would do is do a 120k service, which runs about 600-800 alone. Thats if you do the work yourself. Are you good with your hands? Mechanically inclined? Do you have tools? If not, this car will get real expensive really fast.

Thanks for your reply nissanfreaj12. I decided to pass on it. I didn't fall in love with it when I drove it. The problems it has for that price didn't seem the best for me either. I feel that I'll be able to find a nicer one in near that price, or I might just go and start working on the z31

Its never a good idea to just rush into a purchase as large as a car especially a Z. Just keep looking, don't give up!

Yeah that's what is was going to be as well. The only Z I felt comfortable rushing into was a pristine 86t that had 28k original miles. So upset I missed out on that one, but its tough when you have to deal with craigslist sellers

I will be selling a near perfect NA for around $3500. That is with new seats, 120k kit, a near perfect interior and only a few dings on the outside. I'm not saying that to sell you, I'm just letting you know, it was a good thing you passed this one by for $3500 needing those things done to it ;) welcome to Nico btw!

"I shook him on $3500" ... "its tough when you have to deal with craigslist sellers" ... and it would appear to be buyers as well.

Thanks Ziggy. Glad to be here, hopefully I'll have my z32 sometime soon. Where is the one you are selling?

And no RubyRed just sellers, didn't help that I drove 2 hours out of my way to see a Z that wasn't as described in the ad. I shook him and we had a deal for a week later. I let him know 2 days after that I had changed my mind. His listing was still up so I'm sure he lost no other potential buyers "holding" it for me. Most craigslist sellers are very difficult to deal with.

If you have the funds, and really want a reliable Z from someone that is respected in the community, I would rethink about doing a little traveling. I personally would rather buy from someone that is known to take care of their cars or from someone that you have no idea what they did to it. Just a thought.

Yeah I agree nissanfreak, but distance is an issue with the amount I work. So it will have to be somewhere near me, there are a good amount of passionate Z owners around the Midwest where I am, but there are a lot of those who don't know what they have so that can also sometimes end up being good on getting a deal.
