You might be a racer if even your mountian bike has nitrogen in the tires. Figured the old boy could use a little bit of F-1 technology :) It goes great with the 5Ziggen stickers on my forks hehe.

Paul, it's as good an idea as any.... but mtn. bike tires suffer more frequent punctures than car tires, and are easily repaired/refilled with items already compact/capable of being carried on-cycle/available at any cycle shop.

About the stickers, are you for real??:D

at least I won't have to worry about tempature induced blowouts at 100+mph going into a turn..... Of if I decide to ride in the dead of winter (which is like 50 here in FL) I won't have to worry about my pressure changing. HEHE

I'm gonna re-fill the tires in my car somtime when I'm bored at work just for the hell of it while I'm at it.

Ummm, i could be wrong here but i thought all gases expand and contract at the same rate at any given temp. why would nitrogen be better than air?

They don't, nitrogen dosn't expand and contract at all (relativly) That's why they use it in ALL the racecars. Also that's why it's used in aircraft tires (going from a -60 cold soak to being slammed into a runway that's 130 degree's and being instantly spun up to about 150mph and not to mention the heat generated by the brakes).

what's so fooked up about it? people don't understand what they charge shocks or tires with in 'real' racecars..... that's what's so sad about this thread.

nope it's dry, just like like aviation grade oxygen it's got 0% moisture content (also good for the inside of my wheels I guess.
