Hello everyone, hope everyone is doing great!

I found this g37 coupe for sale, but not really sure if its worth buying.
The guy says the car runs and drives... so i don't know.

Here are a few pictures

This is a 2008 model and the guy wants 13k for it, it has 23k miles.
I'm afraid the engine is fugged up and it will cost me a ton to repair in the future.
I really don't want to be stuck with a car which will need a new transmission in like 20k miles.

Your opinions are appreciated.

Depends on what you're doing with it

Hell ya its worth 13k

However, Im not for sure of the laws in your state, but to rebuild it, it has to pass a multipoint inspection, and have the same miles it had when it was wrecked and recorded.

Track car?

You can bet that thing was takin very well care of, look at the inside pics.

It was probably stolen and wrecked, i bet that motor was never beat on previously

I just hope the engine is fine... because I'm like a total nothing when it comes to working with the engine.
I sent the guy an email to take a few more pictures and all. hopefully he gets em to me by the end of tomorrow.
Any ideas on what i can do with the front of the car? Buy a body kit? auction? i really want this car... but feeling a bit iffy about it

Uhh....

Man if u dont know where to go or what to do

don't

because i would buy it, verify the original miles is from when its wrecked, and rebuild it. then get the owner to sign all the papers with me

and drive it

but you lookin at 10k-12k in repairs, if not more, and if the engine is gone, thats more money.

If I were you, I'd stay away from it. Both sides are damaged, the engine/transmission probably stressed out on impact, the frame needs alignment and the air bags probably deployed. You'll spend a lot of money just for the body repair and stretching. There is no guarantee that it will track straight after the repair. And most likely, the lifespan of the transmission (and engine?) will be cut short. And with 'salvage title,' it would be difficult to sell it in the future.

With the $13K and the repair cost, you can buy another G in much better shape. Check Yahoo! Cars, Edmunds, etc. so get a better idea of current pricing. Once you decide which car(s) you are interested with, make sure you get a CarFax report, do your own preliminary inspection and if possible, have it inspected by a shop (or Infiniti dealership). Get maintenance history and do a thorough test drive.

Find any dealer on craigslist who will buy you a car from the Manheim auction. The dealers normally charge around $500. They will mail you the list every week and send you condition report. The day before auction go and check out the car and the dealer can bid online on simulcast right in front of you. I got my 07 G35x yesterday from the auction.

13k for a car that's completely wrecked seems really unreasonable. Doesn't seem like salvage price. Everyone here's right in saying no, 13k on this sucker alone plus additional 12k in repairs will bring it to 25k... U can buy used ones for that price, that u can atleast sell later on when u upgrade. With this car ur thinking of, there's going to be 0 resale value cause its wrecked and repaired... Ur really screwing ur self out of more money than saving in the end.
