I filled the car up on the way home from buying last Sat. Have been driving it for errands and back and forth to work. I filled up again this morning and checked gas mileage. I about fell over when I got 27.79 miles per gallon on that tank! If this is the norm, I just might have to go find me another Vert if my son is to eventually have this one!

Its not crazy, but you've probably been taking it lightly on it. I'd say average is 24-25 for city/hwy.

I get about the same too, a little less tho. My boyfriend says that I drive like a raped ape. But Im sure if I was a little easier on it id get better gas mileage.

Also, most performance/tune up mods will yield better gas mileage, such as high flow intake (or filter)/exhaust/good plugs & wires/etc.

I got 27 once when I took it reeeeeaaaal easy. Usually I get 24 with occasional hard driving. No idea on the new vert, since I still haven't learned to drive stick

oh well, you'll learn. once you figure it out, you'll wonder what took so long.

bixll, people thought i was crazy when i said i was getting that kind of mileage with my vert on my honeymoon. vert had 3" cat back and some big sportmax 962's (17x7F 17x9R). i don't know what is dictating the gas mileage on these things, but it varies tremendously. i know in my "new" vert i'm lucky to see 20mpg. this vert has a lot of issues and is never driven lightly though...

Takes me $35 just to fill up my 240 vert. It is not very expensive considering my moms Toyota Sequia and my dads Toyota truck takes about $60-$80 worth of money.

I floor my vert all the time, and I don't care about gas mileage. Feels very good that way... On the other hand, I do care about gas mileage on my DD. It's about time gas mileage will go up because of no more AC.

27.79 seems very good number. Something you can get from newer cars.

Eh. I hate it for now. I can't get the timing down from dead stop to moving and the engine makes very angry noises at me regardless of my gear. I'm afraid to hurt my poor vert by driving it poorly =/

Just give it a lot of gas and let the clutch out real slow. Eventually, you'll learn the right "mixture".

That's what I've been doing, but it's a little embarrassing to be spinning your wheels on every takeoff

All those nice mods to your car, and you still haven't done one of the most important.

I know... Suspension is almost done, so I'm going to move on for sure. Next is brake BTW. When I do 5-speed swap, you guys can expect a kick *** write up on it.

Wow! I think those numbers are really high. I usually get 19/22 and I don't think I drive it that hard. Mine is totally stock too.

I get 26-27 mixed. I drive on the highway for 30 miles to work. When I go on long road trips I get 30 plus.
