That's my t3/t04e and I'm afraid the compressor housing will get too warm there only 1/4" or less from the exhaust manifold.

I have to run an external gate, so I'm thinking of using one of the boxes to go between turbo and manifold and then it should be ok..

it will be fine, i think shielding off the header could help some with the air temperature in the compressor.

Well I tried the stock header shield, but it didn't fit...I could trim it, but I think I'll just make up one of those wastegate adapter boxes, then it'll give it a little more room.

How exactly do you make the adapter boxes? Other than the two t3 flanges?

I wouldn't even bother with the box. It fits and you have a intercooler.

I'm gonna buy a fire extinguisher before I go driving this car, because everyone else in town with one has had it burn...no joke!

i think at any auto store you could buy a spray paint that can reduce the heat under your hood by just sprayin it on the exh mani...

Adapter box setup: 2 t3 flanges, a 2x3 steel rectangle tube (decent thickness), 1.5inch steel tube for 38mm tial, get someone to weld it nice and strong.

Only reason I'll be doing this is that I'm running a t3/60-1 with .82 hot side, and that bad boy is definitely not going to clear, not to mention need a space for ex. wastegate.

Who's is that? I just got 1/2 way done making my adapter box tonight, but I just dont' like how it moves the turbo closer to the frame of the car...I wonder how hard it would be to make a 1/2" hold in cast...probably need an oxy/acetylene torch eh?

Just have to be careful with that because the last 2 runners are separate from the first 4 with a vertical tine in the middle of them.
