The V12 are a great tire.

That damage is borderline. The rim sealing surface is compromised, but looks like it should have enough integrity to seal up fine.

My advice would be to get a second opinion from a tire shop, and of course consider the condition of the rest of the tire (tread depth, and odd wear, etc).
I'd throw a little rubber glue in the crack, put that chunk back in place and give it a shot. Worst-case scenario is you'll have a slow leak.

^^^^^^^^^

Your life can depend on the condition of the tires
Why f*** around and take a chance of even a slow leak or at worst a blowout to save a few $$$
Just replace the tire

Just my $.02

I agree with Telcoman. The accelerator, brakes and handling of your car WILL NOT WORK without the tires. How much is your butt worth?

Yep, vote number 2 with Telcoman. I always err on the side of caution when it comes to tires.

Realize you are stretching the tire if you are putting 245's on a 10.5" wheel, thus, just replace it.

Have to wonder why the previous owner is selling them?! Leaking? His tire guy told him it was unsafe? Buying a cheap set can be verrrry expensive sometimes!! IMHO.
