I have a '91 with a blown ka motor and was considering a few options as far as whats in the cars future. I will definatley be keeping it but I am not sure if I will drop a remanufactured ka in or do the sr swap. Putting the sr in from what i've read is the easiest swap to do but still seems to me like there are alot of loose ends other than just getting a jdm engine set. My question isn't cash vs. horsepower its is all of the extra modification and work worth the outcome?

Well it really comes down to your decision. I just did my swap and to tell you the truth it isnt hard at all. I even did the wiring which isnt that hard. If you look up sr swap info there is tons of sites that come up that answer every question you can think of, because trust me it has been asked before. Is it worth it is for you to determine. but dont let it intimidate you because it isnt hard to do.

Heres some links to help you out these are what I used.... Hope it helps

it depends on your driving habits and money. in the end you can make a faster sr than a ka for less money $5000 including buying a new car.

depends on you alone

it could go both ways, these days its almost as cheap to do a ls1 swap, but i consider that the easy route

LS1 cheap and easy?!? I'm not into vettes but I'm pretty sure that a 20 year old LS1 would still cost a couple thousand at least, not to mention all the custom work. I'd like to see someone pull an LS1 from a Vette clip and complete the swap in one weekend, then I'd be convinced...maybe

They did not make the LS1 20 years ago, they debuted in the 1997 Corvette But yes, they are a few grand at least. What he was saying is the LS1 swap it cheaper then an SR swap with mods to make 350whp.

This is debatable though, and has no bearing on this thread, so yeah
