Link to video. What is this sound? It sat for 3 months, noise is not noticeable inside the car and it runs fine, I drove it around the block, but obviously this is a big concern. I am thinking it's just low on oil, the oil seemed really thin on the dipstick etc. I did not have time to throw oil in it though. Thanks

I did some research on rod knock and saw a few of the videos people have posted.. seems like the sign of rod knock is the knock getting worse when you rev it. This is a rather consistent sound through revs... I am really hoping it's just chain rattle. Any ideas?

definately not rod knock, way too fast and kinda in-consistant. cam chain or guides are a good possibility. pull the valve cover and look for score marks on the cover, and check the tension of the chain.

I personally think it sounds like it has a spun bearing. Cause it sounds like my engine before i rebuilt it, but i would check under the valve cover first like what was previously suggested. Also you can use a mechanics stethescope for the bottom of the engine and to more pin point your problem i hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will clear out some space in my garage this week and pull her in and pop off the valve cover. Hope it's a painless repair.

I dont know if this has been done but there are guides that were placed in the de from the factory that would later rattle. The guides not needed was/on the top of the head and the exhaust side of the upper timing chain. There are many people on here who have this process on here so just search for timing chain rattle. i hope this is your problem and nothing serious so good luck with it and keep us posted and we will help you out.
