Please tell me I'm looking at it wrong cuz i was wanting to start put my engine in tonight and im sick of waiting for parts.. Was reassembling my engine and the only actually complete part that was built by the machine shop was the heads.. Was suppose to be able to just pop them on and done.. Well stupid a** machine shop installed my exhaust and intake cams on the wrong side, but in making them correct I noticed my seals on the intake cams don't look right at all. If someone can help me figure out how to load pics I'll put some up.. Without pics the best way I can explain it is on my exhaust cams, the part of the cam behind the pulley where the cam seal is measures 40mm in diameter, on my intake cams it measures 35mm in diameter. The problem is all 4 of my seals are exactly the same, and fit the 40mm cam perfectly

IIRC turbo and n/a heads have differant cam seals. so the gasket set depending on where you got it may have had the wrong one in it. not 100% but thats off the top of my head.

No I ordered the proper twin turbo gasket set.. I just read someone else who said they had the same problem and their replies were that all the seals are supposed to be the same.. And if thats right then I am baffled at how they are suppose to seal, cuz from my point of view the seal is pressed into place using the cam #1 mounting plate, and then just free floats there..

From what I can remember, (all 4 cam seals are the same size)the exh cam seals fit tight on the od and id. However the intake vtc seals only seal on the od. The ID seals against the vtc gears themselves. Hope that makes sense.

Remember the intake vtc require oil pressure to operate

thats correct...was thinking the vtc gear oring differance 90-93 and 94-96

Its possible they put the wrong seal on it, since they also installed the cams wrong?

Interesting, and good to know I got the right parts.. They didn't install the wrong seals, i was more worried I received the wrong seals, but all 4 cam gears use the same seal, along with the same front main seal also.. Glad to know I got it assembled correctly! Still confused what's even the point of that seal then lol, since the inside diameter of the seal isn't sealed to anything I could hypothetically take a small hook and reach around and touch the back of the seal. So it's as if it's doing nothing. Well glad I got it assembled correctly! Just a few more things and I should be good to drop the engine in!! Getting excited!!
