Is that the original mileage on the car? Was the engine rebuilt or was it replaced?

If that's the original mileage you certainly stumbled across a gem. I'd jump on it (i'd inspect it in real life first though). 8795 is a pretty steep price. 6-7k would probably be more appropriate imho.

Can you give us a link to the classified?

hey guys- if i decide not to buy i will let you know. i actually drove it. it seems great.

def. the original miles on the car.

it's at a no haggle dealership-kinda like carmax.

so....my question is...would you drop the 8795$ or no....

I say get it (even though I haven't seen pics of it myself i'm going with what you said). Sucks that it's at a no haggle dealership...I would have said try to negotiate the price to at least 7 grand.

Be sure to post pics of it!

Even if it's a no haggle place, they'll come down on price if it doesn't sell.

I'd rather have 2 $4500 higher mileage verts than one very low mileage $9k vert.

I'm with you guys... ~$7k seems about right for that car. It's hard to justify almost $9k on a car that's almost 15 years old.

Maybe if it had 3,000 miles...

Still... sounds like an amazing car.. It might even have decent door panels.. maybe

Does it come with a boot?

Sometimes dealerships that are no haggle on the price will haggle quite a bit on a trade-in.. do you have an old beater you can take in and ask $2500 for in trade???

That's ok...stick around and you will know all you need to know.

I see...either way it's not a girlish car.

Nope...gone.

I agree Eikon.... except.. even with 3000 miles the bushings and all rubber parts are waaaay past their prime and would need replacing anyway... not something I'm looking forward to doing....

$7000... hmmm still a bit steep... although I bought mine for $8000 ......almost 9 years ago... I say buy it at full price and up the value of ours (jk..)

Even in mint shape We all know .. the seats still s*ck and the trannies/rev sensor/speed sensors still give us all fits... but that's my opinion..

I would love to have a clean vert for $4500 and an extra $3000 to put into it...

Price is so relative. Can you find a newer more reliable convertible for $8-9k? Sure. Will it be one of 8000 built that's been featured (sort of) in movies and countless magazines? Probably not.

I was not hip to the whole 240sx vert world until after I bought my car ($4200, 87k miles, near mint). But this forum plus some research confirmed I'd found a gem.

No Haggle? There's always room to haggle. His price is too high IMHO but again, it's all relative. How much do you want this car? how much are you willing to pay to keep a 14 year old car up for the next 10 years? How many people will say, "man that's a cool car, I've never seen one of those. What is it?"

Priceless.....

I think the price is high because the dealer is EXPECTING a haggle. That is a crazy low amount of miles though...

However, will you be prepared for the dumb look on people's face when they ask you what you drive and you say "A Nissan 240sx!"? I haven't found one person that knew what car I was talking about. I think the Camaro owners in my school do, but only cause I'm friends with one of them....and the kid with the Eagle Talon, but only because those Talon's REALLY wish they were a 240

Tell her I'll be by to pick her up at 8.

And to bring a change of pants.

Dealer is no crack.

If it's a VA car, it's got rust.

Point out the flaws in the door panels and ask him if he knows where they can be found - Answer: NO WHERE.

Does it have a boot? Top function properly? Any flaws at all? CarFax?

Even a perfect S13 vert shouldn't be more than $6K. And THAT is not a car you want to modify.
