I have around $7k to do an RB25DET (stock, for now) swap into my '97 240 LE. I would be paying a shop for labor. Assuming the shop is competant and knows what they're doing, is this possible?

yes, that should easily cover it. Search around, you can see what people have spent.

It is not a difficult swap, but if you can have an experienced shop do it, then you will probably save money because it won't take them very long.

that'll probably cover it. my friend just did an rb25 into his s13 and he and i did all the work (except some of the wiring) and it came out to a total of around 5000 (thats with the silvia front end and shipping for everything included)

i think you should start making some rb friends in your area and have a swap party :)

all you need is buy mounts, send MCKinney your harness, and do the swap yourself, it will save you lots of $ in the end, which could be use on upgrades, FMIC, etc.... becareful of the shop you go to.
