Unless the steering pump seized, I don't see how it could affect your idle..

And your idle would have to be pretty damn low to stall. What's your idle set to right now?

pre the problem, it was 650ish at idle, 900 or so with the AC on.

my power steering is gone, thats why I asked.

you can adjust the idle by turning the idle set screw on the side of the air plenum.

IF THE IDLE DROPS BELOW 500RPM THE CAR DIES.... A POWERSTEERING PUMP WITH A LOCKED UP PULLEY WOULD BREAK THE BELT........ IDLE IS EFFECTED BY VACUUM, IDLE CONTROL, TIMING, AIR LEAKS, LEAKY GASKETS, AND AIR/FUEL MIXTURE.

actually it might not break the belt, there is a possibibltiy that it will stretch. it might not be locked up but on the way.

Also, when the idle starts to wig out, i hear noise from either the power steering pump, or the air conditioner (that area).

EXHUAST ISN'T TO DETRIMENTAL TO IDLE BUT IT COULD BE A CAUSE.

THE REASON YOUR BRAKES GOT HARD WAS BECAUSE THE LOSS OF VACUUM TO THE BOOSTER PUMP.

THOSE ACCESSORIES COULD HAVE A HAND IN THE CAUSE... JUST CHECK TO MAKE SUR ETHE PULLEYS ARE FREE SPINNING.

Took a closer look earlier, and when the idle is screwed up, the air conditioner appears to not be spinning freely. Looks like it could be the problem :(

Yea, evidently my power steering pump bearing is dying or somethin'. Theres metal flakes all over, meaning something was scraping. (This is the conclusion my neighbor came too.)
