A friend of mine has a mid 80s 300z in his back yard. It is a turbo car although he said the turbo was not doing much when he parked it. Not knowing much about these cars would it be worth rescueing? It was running a couple of years ago But I am sure it would need a lot of work, hoses seals etc. What would the potential of one of these cars be? Can you pep it up easily? Bigger turbo? Whatcha think?

People are making over 400hp on the stock bottom end.

How much can you get the car for?

I say go for it. Even if the cars body is in poor shape you could get the car back in working condition and make some good power for not to much money. If not you could try parting it out and make some money. I picked up a 88 NA for free that "Won't ever run" and got it back on the road for about $60 and 4hours of work. It's not as fast as the turbo but still fun as hell to drive.

they have lots of potential, adding an I/C is a PITA but really opens up the potential power, so long as the chassis isn't a rust bucket go for it

Depends if you have the time and money to devote to that type of project.
