I would run the clean oil through the cooler not the dirty oil.

dirty oil from the block goes into the oil filter housing to the outside of the filter, then out of the center of the oil filter to the cooler, then from the cooler bk in to block

Make sure you run a thermostatically controlled oil sandwich adapter (i.e. Greddy).

Mike - That is a sweet deal! Hopefully that was the issue.

Nissan2367 - Yes, you are correct. The thermostat inside the sandwich filter operates just like the thermostat in the cooling system. It only opens once the oil reaches the trigger temperature. Without it, the oil temps could remain "cold" on cold days and the air-to-oil cooler is an efficient one.

Does the OEM oil cooler on a RB25 suck?

Can you just remove it and install the sandwich adapter?

That lets you run without the factory oil cooler. I'm not sure as to if it sucks or not just saw that on raw brokerage.

I was 85% sure (person who told me is questionable), until neonbomb made it sound like I was crazy. My question was almost rhetorical.
