Just went to the dealer to have my wheels rebalanced on their Hunter 9700. Checked the weights - one had 7g, one had 14g, one had 21g and the other had 28g.

I got the wheels by mail and they were out of balance, as the adhesive weights had shifted and fallen durring shipping. The difference since the balance is noticable.

Just wondering if its normal to have different amounts on each wheel.

Thanks

yep, every car is like that, mine range from 5g to 40g on the stock 7 spoke alloys. also when tires are inflated they can never be perfectly round so this effects them as well. they change shape slightly after they are heat cycled a bazillion times and because of uneven wear, these things are the reason you have to get them rebalanced every so often.

Did they even try to break down the wheel/tire to rotate them on the wheels for a closer balance? Just wondering.

I doubt it, I'll look though - I got a little scratch on the lip and wheel in one spot, if they still line up, then no they didn't.
