Is this normal automatic temperature control?

I have a 09 Altima 2.5SL. I suspect, the automatic temperature control in my car is not working as it should. Here is what happens.

The car is parked in the cold outside for hours. So its interior is as cold as the outside, if not more. The outside temperature is showing to be in the upper 30s. I start the engine and then set the temperature to 90 degree with "dual" turned off and "auto" turned on. The air blows towards the leg and the fan speed is lowest. It stays like that forever even after the engine warms up.

In such situation, I expect the air to blow towards the face (or face and leg) and the fan speed to be maximum. But that is not what happens in my car. Is this normal? Or, do I have a problem with some sensor related to the automatic temperature control?

i have the same car.... as far as it blowing fast only when the car is warmed up, i think that's a great feature. it is normal. why would you want it to blow cold freezing air when the car is cold? you wouldn't. that's the point. the car is smart. it waits until the enging is 25% hot (1st line) then starts blowing.

you say that even after it is warm, it's low? that does not sound right. take it to the dealer. my car blows fast at 75 degrees, until it reaches that temp or close to that temp, it gets lower and lower then stabilizes.

air should blow to leg.... that is where heat in a car is normally directed. but you will hear it from from the defroster.. i was told that with the automatic climate control on these cars (told by a tech at the dealership) that the blower, no matter what, blows SOME air onto the windshield... to make absolutely sure, that the windshield gets defrosted, in case there is a defect with the temp system.

hope that helps.
