well I got my replacement form ss autochrome for free no charge just lots of e-mails and stuff..but they didnt have the old one so they gave me the one with the new design with the braces and stuff...somehow the manifold might be touching the VALVE cover.....think this is ok?? im thinking if I do tighten the rest of the nuts..it will clear the valve cover...ill let you know when I do...

thats really close... I don't think it could hurt anything if it touches it slightly as long as your flanges are flat with one another. Tighten it down some and report back

I would dimple it at that point with a ballpen hammer. That's if it were mine, it's yours though so use your own judgement.

I would have to agree with the madscientist, regarding using a ballpen hammer, but first, try to tighten couple bolts to see if it aligns better and it might not touch the valve cover .

One thing about the Ballpen hammer idea, is that last time you used SS manifold, it cracked and they replaced it for free, but if this one cracked and you sent it back for replacement, they might try to use the dent on the manifold as an excuse to avoid replacing it again.

That is my two cent opinion.

are these things stainless steel or chrome-plated steel. The ballpeen idea would damage a plated pipe's finish so i would want to know before I swing.

shouldn't we be dimpling the valve cover here, and not the manifold? isn't the valve cover going to give a little more than the exhaust manifold? How about a file at that spot? That part of the valve cover isn't under alot of stress. A thin wall right there around the bolt won't cause any problems.

you can also use an extra set of gaskets, thats what i did with the turbo to manifold connection on my car. just crank it down a little extra and you should be good to go.

Mine cleared alright. I had to loosen up all of my valve cover bolts and shift the valve cover a little, but it fits just fine now.

That's not going to prevent your injector from functioning properly. But if you really want another injector, I'm sure you're gonna have to buy the set instead of one.

You can get it replaced locally.

I got mine replaced at the same shop that flow tested my injectors. Truck shops that specialize in fuel injection/pumps are a good bet.
