Found a newer KA for my car. Carisma (the shop with the motor) is telling me its one of the strongest KAs the gotten in a long time. Its a 96 KA w/ 116k. The compression test showed 195/185/190/190. $500 for the motor, should I do it?

My current is the original 92 motor w/ 213k miles on it and starting to have mor ena dmore issues with sensors and the IAC (or something similar) is completely screwed, and replacing the IAC didnt help.

I have to make a decision very very soon as other people are looking at the motor.

Five bills is a bit steep, considering I picked up my '97 motor with less miles for a buck fifty. Ask around your are for people doing sr swaps and what they plan to do with the engine. Most are willing to give the ka away.

In Orlando it is difficult to find a 240 not completely stripped or even crushed at a salvage yard. There is one 240sx 95 that I believe still has a motor in it out on the east end of Colonial closer to Christmas county. Other then that a good priced ka in good shape you might have to drive to miami for. Have you tried going over to enjuku off of semeron? If they do not have one I would be compeled to tell you to grab that motor. Good luck.

Careful. I bought my last motor from them $400 it blew 66.6 miles later lol. They had it driving in the parking lot before pulling. They said NO SMOKE, Great compression, oil is clean. I get a friend to pick it up.... Get to my house and had my old engine out already. Took valve cover off to remove the guides. Oil baked on the cams and everywhere in the head just plain nasty. I had to scrape the head clean with something metal to get it off. Dirt inside the head etc. Ran oil through it a few times after start-up to get the gunk out. Engine was smoking bad.

This shop use to be George's as Powerline, He was great and would let you know if there was any chances of it being messed up. When I got an engine form him it was $400 but came with harness and ecu.
