it's all good till 1 week later you start to get a oil leak, then before you know it you losing all your oil and your on the road. The smell of hot oil hitting your even hotter exhaust gets into your car. Then you have to go under the car and use a easy out to get the thread thats stuck into the block because thats where your brass fitting broke did that once without even thinking.

if i were you i would go with the tuner toys steel adaptor, 20$ and it has provisions for the std oil pressure sensor so you dont loose your idiot light and has 2 1/8" npt ports for gauges or oil lines...

This thing right here:

This might physically be better for clearance, because the stock Oil Pressure sender is kinda big.

I have heard of this being an issue in the past, but was always curious why the brass fittings would break. They seem stout enough. How heavy is the oil pressure sender?

its not that it isnt 'strong' enough but rather it cannot withstand vibrations from the motor and with weight on the end it can snap quite easily.the tuner toys bit works quite well, i have one on mine.

As am I. Also, how difficult is it to change the oil filter when the motor is installed? I have been wondering about that for a while. Reason: I'm looking at using a sandwich adapter + remote filter (set in the corner next to the wiper motor).

lol, no flaming here...just fuming from remembering a very bad experience when I had a Fram filter's insides break loose. Afterwards I search about fram filters and found out they used to be good quality but now they are among the worst.

the only proper way to install a fram filter is in the garbage.
