I've been shopping used G35 coupes and stopped by a local dealer yesterday that specializes in higher end used cars. I saw a red 6MT there a couple weeks ago and stopped back with the idea of taking it for a test drive. Sales manager told me it had been sold. Long story short...I told him what I was looking for and he told me they should have no problem finding one. I leave the dealership and about an hour later, I get a call from the guy and he says that he's embarassed to tell me but they actually had an '04 6MT with Nav with 20k mi in another area of the dealership...they had just taken it in! He said it still needed to be detailed.

He told me that it was a "charcoal" color which I would be interested in...I just don't know what this color is exactly on the G. I found this pic on another thread...It looks like "charcoal" to me but I figured someone here would know for sure.

I hope Tinypic uploads works here...

The unfortunate thing is that I leave to go out of town on business today and won't be able to get in there to drive it until next Friday. He told me that the pics will be on their website Monday. Sorry for the long post.

Two likely candidates are Brilliant Silver Metallic, which has been replaced by Liquid Platinum, and Diamond Graphite Metallic, which still exists although "Metallic" has been dropped from the name. They are both shades of silver. Diamond Graphite is the darker of the two and could be described as "charcoal".

The car in your photo may be the other, lighter one. Because of the variability in lighting, cameras, video cards and monitors, it is impossible to be sure. Even a photo on the dealer's web site may not be accurate. The best thing for you to do is look at the car in person after you return from your trip.

I agree that Diamond Graphite looks like what the sales guy is referring to as "charcoal".

It's definitely either grey or hot pink.....or maybe another color. It's hard to tell from that angle.
