is this car worth it??

ok i found an 87 nissan sentra se auto. the couple had it forever. its been sittin for awhile only cause the mechanic shop that regularly serviced them said to not drive it much more due to rust. Its rusting at the top of the tirewell in the engine bay(both sides) and at the bottom along the wells in the engine bay.

My question is ....is this fixable. as in can a welder put some stuff together for cheap or is this gonna be expensive. the couple wants to sell it for 200 dollars.....but to me it wont be worth it if i have to pay like 2 grand to fix the rust.

wat u guys think?
