Take it to a machine shop and have them tig it. Or alternatively, super glue it, and wrap it in duct tape.

You can have it tigged, and lathed back down, it's really no big deal. I don't know where you're finding those prices on a set of cams, but if they can be found for that, the machine shop isn't worth it. If it were me, I would do it myself... That's just me though.

I found it a lot easier to tig weld than stick weld. I can burn with one hand and feed with the other, but I have a hard time remembering to feed the electrode and my hand at the same time lol.

.... And how are you going to use a lathe when the mounting tab for the camshaft sproket is less than a CM away from the surface your trying to machine?

How are you even going to be able to get your tig torch in there in the first place?

As far as the lathe, that is a very good point. I didn't think about that when I was suggesting ideas.

I hold the torch with my right hand, and the rod in my left. Looks like the crack starts a little off center of the dowel. I'm pretty sure there is more than enough room for me to get a good arc. In reality, the "ring" in question is nothing more than a hub centric locater, and if everything is buttoned up and the washer in place, there shouldn't be any failures of that particular part. Now if it was the dowel, or a crack midway down the shaft, it would be a different story...

I do appreciate your pointing these things out, and I can take constructive criticism just as well as I can spew it. However, I kinda feel like your stalking me you weirdo lol. On an unrelated note, I used to live on Wellington road, and Catharpin Road. God I hate Manassas.

With the pressure that the timing chain puts on that tiny piece of metal that holds the sproket on, it eventualy would competly crack off and could potentialy destroy your engine. I mean yea, the force on that tiny piece isnt much because of the what.. 80 foot pounds of tq holding a big fat bolt on but still, not worth the risk at all.

Yea, but i already knew all about where you used to live. I like manasshole, not to busy, not to rural. Used to go down to JMU all the time to visit friends, thats a pretty cool area too. Except for the chicken factory(dog food or something?) side of town, oh man did i hate driving through that..

Chicken feed. It's a rather bland "city". It's like a black hole.

Alright thanks guys, i guess ima crap it anyways. Oh didn't mention in the pics, the crack is only on the outside less than a mm in the rings nothing on the inside of the ring. Really dont wanna risk destroying my engine dont have another daily runner.

Not a bad idea, I think we came to the silent consensus that it wouldn't be worth paying someone to do the work it needs. If you want, you can send it to me instead of throwing it away. Just figure me up some shipping charges to 24441. It'll give me something to do at work other than my job haha. Let me know.
