Is this all I need to do the PCV valve?

03, QX4. The illustrated below and of course the PCV valve not pictured. I'm not holding my breath, but theoretically a bad PCV could account for my extreme oil consumption. Might make the difference between keeping it and getting rid of it. Runs great, but occasionally sends up an absolute smokescreen along with a quart of oil every 500-600 miles.

The manifold gasket should only be necessary if you're going underneath it to get at the knocks. For the PCV you should only need the plenum gasket. Pulling the rocker cover is optional, but it might be a good idea to yank it and clean out the PCV baffles on the inside, they're probably clotted if the valve went bad.

PS - Don't forget to check the PCV hoses, too. The R52's have a J-hose to the PCV which sometimes collapses internally, and the net effect of that is to turn the engine into a sludge-o-matic in a matter of months. Your plumbing is different from an R52, but make sure all your hoses are open. Clogged or collapsed ones will have the same effect as a clotted valve.
