is this a vlsd?

this is out of a 97 s14 and i just wanted to make sure it was a limited slip, anyone who knows for sure please help me out.

Not a vlsd as they are sealed unit..notice the circle. vlsd are sealed all the way around. Turn 1 of the outputshafts if the other turns the same direction its a LSD. You can also look for any markings on it.

well it sure as hell isnt an open diff carrier. open diffs dont have the circle openings. but i think vlsd do. but yeah, just turn one of the output shafts, the other should turn the same way.

when i turn the out put shaft the other one turns in the same direction if i hold one and try to turn the other one it turns but is very hard to turn, this is what led me to believe that it was a lsd but ive never seen one so im not sure, there is no sticker.

open diffs have a large cut out on the side of them. That's definitely not an open diff.

are s13 and s14 open diffs the same on the inside? because this one looks nothing like an s13 open diff on the inside.

Helical maybe. A friend of mine is selling a helical off a gts-t looks just like that one.

ive looked at pictures of s15 helicals and it dosnt look very similar, does anybody know where i can find a picture of a s14 vlsd?
