What's it like when you get on it? During a cold start?

the stock gauge and sender can be flakey, stock idle readign should be aroudn 14 psi iirc, you can test thsi with a mechanical gauge in the sender port, cold start and higher revs will yield higher pressures, and as the engine bearings and rings wear the static oil pressure will drop

have you verified the reading with a mechanical gauge? are you sure you sender isn't bad?

its more important that it goes up when you accelerate.... my original na motor would sometimes say about 0 at idle... then would hit 80 when hard accel... either way im using an aftermarket gauge now.... i never trusted that stock one completely

mine sits at like 58 to 60 at idle after having all egr lines replaced and new injectors, water pump, new valve cover gaskets, timing belt etc etc....before it would sit at 20 at idle and now its at 60.....good or not?

I wouldn't be worried about it. That's kind of high, but if it's from the stock gauge, I wouldn't even trust it.

Thats funny i was thinking the exact same question yesterday, but my Z has always been like that ( at idle ), but once you push the gas ( or under operating pressure ) it will move. :gapteeth:
