Here is the page/site I found this on, assuming I did the link right.

see the part that says *rb30s are built for customer*

they take the block from i believe an sohc austrailian skyline, then mount the head from the rb-20/-25/-26 that you provide on the block, and wham 3.0 liter dohc skyline engine. im not positive about the block coming from the skyline specifically, but i know it comes from an austrailian nissan.

rb30e block, don't want DE due to plain crap reasons.

25 or 26 head. Whatever you can afford. Then ta da. :-P

It's like the whole KA24E/DE swap. But instead of raising your already lowering it to a good CR 8-)

So what's the difference between the RB30E and RB26DETT blocks? Is one just bored more than the other or what? Does anyone know if the 26 mounts will work with the 30?

RB30= more displacementrb26= less displacement

The RB30E came in the ol' skyline R31. One of the ugliest skylines i have ever seen lmao. BTW the RB30 is an AUS motor only.

You have to lower the engine a lot becuase it has the same problem the VG30 has. It is 1" higher where the hood closes.

Someone i was talking with from NZ was doing the RB30DETT swap. God damn its amazing how much power that hybrid makes. Ausies ... you guys are gods X_X.

Anyway, i was thinking of doing the swap myself in my 240sx. But i don't want legal/DOT issues so i'll just keep my ka24 :P

Bet noone would have guessed on a Chevy with a Skyline engine...

Holden is the Aus subsidiary of General Motors. On one model of the Commodore they bought Nissan straight 6's. They had an agreement with Nissan that if they bought the 3.0 RB, that Nissan couldn't make and sell another 3.0 elsewhere.

Here's a pic of the VL commodore... (from 86-88 they had the RB30)http://www.users.on.net/~nwebe....html

Here's the specs pagehttp://www.users.on.net/~nwebe....html

I believe you take the RB30 block from the VL Commodore and put on the RB25 or 26 head.

RB30 engines only came in Single Cam configuration.They were in the Skyline & the Holden Commodore, which also had a Turbo Version, which had a stronger block, crank etc & this is the best one to get for mods.You can now buy kits to change them to Twin Cam, & the RB25 head fits the easiest. Everything lines up, but you need different manifolds.

Heres a site that shoes how to build a RB30DET from a RB30E and RB25DE.
