^ That's what it is.

Good system if you can find it in stainless. No longer produced.

Though it's already been answered, as one with that exhaust, I can offer another confirmation. :-)

Great exhaust, very subdued compared to most aftermarket exhausts, but has a nice throaty sound to it too . . . hard to describe really. Definitely quiet enough for a daily driver. Sadly, mine is aluminized steel (thought it was stainless, but alas, it is not) . . . might not survive the winters too well, but I got it for a decent price, so it's a win/win for me, heh . . . good luck with it, and sorry for such a long post.

That's the one we modeled the BRM S13 system after.

Same sound, similar construction. Only differences are we use stainless billet flanges instead of stamped steel (and you can get ours in full stainless).

did hks ever produced it to be 3 inch?

greg:

do you have any pics of the car on a coupe with that exhaust? I am looking for a none noticeable exhaust that looks stock for my sr20det application. To be honest I am not too familiar with exhaust, is it possible to custom an exhaust like that with 3 inch piping and get the biggest/longest glasspack/resonator? will it be restrictive? loud?

I'd direct you to the thread that's stickied at the top of 240 Gen Chat.

Page 7 of that thread has pics.

We build a 3" system for the 240 with dual tips - I can give you a 22" resonator, which will be quiet and less restrictive than anything else on the market (yes, I said it).

****! that was stupid, I was looking at it on the coupe on page 7 already but I was actually requesting a pic on the fastback.

As for the resonator, I know the bigger/longer it is, less sound is produce. At the same time, is the exhaust flow also reduced? and this 22 inch resonator you speak of, does it have a piping width measurement?

Sorry for being such a noob but I don't think I want to attract the police after the motor swap. I want to make sure that I am getting a quiet exhaust that's not restrictive. (can't have the best out of both world?)

I really don't care how it looks, can you make it so it's not shinny? I don't want it to rust but I don't want it to be shinny either.

Can the stock exhaust be modified to handle the 3 inch piping?

A resonator doesn't impact flow. It is a straight through pipe. All resonators are tuned for the diameter piping they are to be used for... So they are typically approximately 1-2" larger in diameter depending on length.

I can build you a stainless system, you're welcome to paint it flat black for the stealth look.

Yes, you can have a system that's quiet and free-flowing. :)

3.0" aluminized $380, stainless $460.

Add $70 for the resonator, $20 for the dual tip upgrade, and $45 for shipping to your door.

I ship in 2 boxes to save you $. :)

i'll let you know once I get my car back from phase 2 next weekend

last question: how will your exhaust be better than the one I can get at the local muffler shop? they, too, offer stainless steel with mandreal bent, a big *** resonator is also avilable. I am not so sure about the dual tip yet...

Pretty simple:

The muffler shop doesn't specialize in Nissans, they don't dyno test, they don't know what it'll sound like when it's done, they'll likely use cheap stamped steel flanges, and they'll likely use a generic muffler / resonator.

Other than that, it'll be the same. :)

It looks a little different in that pic. The pipes on the tips of the one you posted seen bent, while that one on Enjuku's site looks straight...Mabye it is just a generic pic.

But 60mm piping? Mabye for you N/A guys that is ok;) Hence why I am getting a 90mm Yashio Factory catback:)

I emailed em, and after international shipping, customs, and such it came to $571 to my door. I will be ordering in about 2 weeks.

And it says 80mm, but I was told that it is 90mm in reality. Either way, can't go wrong:) Don't order it tho....I wanna be the only one with it:D

Well, the main reason I am getting it is (to be honest) because it is yashio Factory and I have yet to see anyone else with it. I was going to get the URAS SS, but then one of my buddys got it.

Check out the GP Sports DD.

Yes it can, but with 60mm piping, you will see a lot of backpressure which:-Makes the turbo do more work to spool (ie spools slower)-Makes the turbo do more work which wears it out faster-Hides the nice "whirr" in the exhaust note of the turbine spinning;)-Kills power

Ideally, the turbo should vent to atmosphere (ie NO exhaust at all). But in the real world of street cars and laws, we have to have something that is a comprimise. Hence, 3" piping (80mm is slightly bigger than 3", but usually just round it to 3") is the way to go for a street driven turbo car.

More if you check here CLICKY!! Don't know which pics are of the back etc, just click through.

It's an excellent exhaust (HKS R2 Sport) - mine has held up for a good 5 years.

EDIT - And the exhaust does/is supposed to be angled up a bit, sets it off nice. Mine is a not as angled anymore b/c theres no heavya$$ cat to pull it down. But you get the idea.
