Is this a good Turbo?

My cousin is thinking about getting a turbo off of ebay for $840 + 45 for shipping,and before he does anything he wants to know what you guys think of it...

It's a hit & miss w/ ebay - do some searching, some have good stuff to say, most don't.

Also, that kit is not complete for any signif amt of boost (i.e. fuel injectors, fuel management, etc).

Remember, you get what you pay for.

If he's serious about getting a decent kit, he should try:

I dont know. I try to watch out for stuff that doesnt specify the brand name. Who made the manifold, turbo, wastegate, and BOV??

I'd say, in one word, RUN!

First off, anyone who comments how loud a WASTEGATE is, sounds like someone who doesn't know what they're selling.

Second, most of that stuff looks like SSAutoChrome. I run their manifold and have no issues so far. However, their turbochargers are known to break. I mean, literally come apart (wheels, housings, etc.).
