Going to look at this truck tomorrow heres the ad

1985 Nissan 720 Pickup, standard cab long bed 5 speed manual transmission with sun roof, tilt steering wheel, power steering, and AC!

Runs great, has new battery, alternator, headlights, oil filter, air filter, breather element, and oil just changed. Rust in typical spots but overall in good shape.

Nissan Z24 (4 cyl) motor with approximately 112k miles (these trucks known to go 300k plus), gets 25 - 30 MPG, clean title in hand. $800

Sounds decent its the "ST" model too, just dont know much about the going rate of these trucks

yeah you can get them all day $100-$800 depending on bad the previous owner wants something else. As long as it runs like a champ, you'll probably have fun with it. Its when it runs like an asthmatic mule that you want something else.

Oh I will he's been trying to get rid of it for a while he told me a bunch of people were interested but they either never came to look at it or didn't want it b/c it was a manual...so he sounds deparate to get rid of it I'd probably offer $600 right there on the spot (given the rust isnt too bad and it drives good) and hope he goes for $700

I bought my first 720 for $900. Then bought my parts truck for $200. So I got 2 4x4 kingcabs for $1100. Not bad.

Goodluck. 720's are great. Not many on the roads.

Ha, mine was free..

But, it was rusted on the hood, roof, and bed, needed a power steering hose, gas had flooded through my valves into my oil pan due to a stuck float and a dirty carb, and needed a battery. This truck has been pretty easy to work and parts are reasonably cheap.

But! That sounds like a pretty good deal, and I'd go check it out. Let us know how it turns out.

Part of it's in primer. We debadged it, removed the pinstriping, and removed the molding. We sanded down all the rust on the hood and roof, which was mostly surface rust, and primered it for now. It'll be painted around Thanksgiving.

That sounds like a real good deal. Try to get him to sale for 600 that would be even better.

this is my exact truck.... i bought mine for $800 with only 75,000 mi on it though... the only problems mine had were some body damage from an accident and the oil was so thick it wouldn't drain

i'd say do it

Always start low man! Point out everything that needs to be done to it then offer him $550 and check his response, then wait...and let him say the next word and allow him to counter. You can't go lower once you've made your first offer, but you can always go higher when he counters. You can find these trucks for $500 all day long that only need a few things to get running great. Where in Philly are you and where is the truck?

I'd go out there with a new fuel pump and that should drop the price, and you will have installed a brand new pump. I would also recommend a new fuel filter.

Try to go lower. You guys are lucky. Over here these trucks have great resale value. I paid 3700 bucks for mine but NO rust, only a carb issue. 38 dollars corrected that.

It cant hurt to check it out.

Yep went to see it yesterday was a little disappointed the bed looked like swiss cheese with the amount of rust and pretty much every body panel had rust but surprisingly the frame was in great condition didnt see any rot at all. It ran ok but for $800 I think I'm gonna pass and try to find something else. Its probably next to impossible to find a rust free replacement bed in this area Probably going to look for a newer hardbody b/c 720s are very rare around here, I envy you guys out west you can still find all kinds of classics out there pretty easy.

Yeah, man, Datsuns in general are REAL HARD to find out here! I've been searching for a 510 for SOOO long! Had one deal just about worked out and the dude dropped the ball and never got back to me! Back to the search!

I bought mine for $250 and with everything I've bought, I've put in right around $1,500 total but my carb is having issues so I'm switching it to the Weber Carb. Great truck, one of the few 720 4x4's I see anywhere now.
