I love Miati (obviously). You can't really go wrong with any of them!Drive a 1.6L NA and a 1.8L NA. They've got different personalities. If you like the 1.8L the best, get a pre OBD-II car. I think that means you could choose from a 94 or a 95. If you like the 1.6L, I'm partial to the 93s.

I was looking at getting a 1.8L and later on possibly swap in an SR. Talked to a couple guys who have done that and they love it. But it all depends on how much I like the stock motor. Never actually driven a Miata...

For what the SR swap would cost, you could have one hell of a turbo'ed Miata engine. They loooooove boost (designed for it, in fact). Granted, you're talking 250hp max easy hp, but 250 in a Miata means you're very high on the pecking order.

I'll take it further and say you'd be stupid to put an SR into a Miata.
