I have the chance to buy a 1991 Nissan 240sx hatchback, 191k miles, 5-speed, bad clutch.......but, only for $800

what do you all think, is it a good deal?

if the body is in good shape and it runs I'd say it is

Yeah, it does run. The engine would only be tempoary though, a CA18DET or SR20DET would replace it as soon as I could save up enough money

Of the excited newbies running their mouths who have said this, I wonder what percentage of them actually follows through. I know I didn't, once I owned my car long enough and really decided what I wanted to do with it.

Trust me, even though I am an excited newbie (I admit it) as soon as I can get the cash together, the swap will be done. It might take a while to save up, but anything worth doing takes time

That's a good deal. I got my 90 hatch for 850$ and it had a blown head gasket, the AC compressor was missing, and it pops out of 5th gear, and it had a dent the size of a football in the front right fender. All you have bad is a freakin clutch~

$1300 for mine motor runs fine interior is gone. Exterior is gone /w a dent on the rear fender, power windows didn't work, sunroof stripping cracked,sunroof clips broken,rear oil leak, other then that... it runs nice

they S13's around my area with a clean body are very hard to find. There is 1 middle aged lady with a 100% bone stock charcoal S13 hatch that is absolutely immaculate as far as the body goes. I want it :-( i wonder how many miles it has maybe she would trade me

Good god...and I thought the three little dents in mine were bad. Actually...my car is immaculate compared to yours...the engine still runs like new:) But I paid 2800 for mine...and its a 93...

lol also there is rust in the front of the engine bay and on the hood hook. the dent in the refender looks like it was hit when it was parked. But like i said it was owned by some woman that got it serviced everytime ... i hope.. :rolleyes i bought it from a dealer... but you know how i can tell? when i was cleaning out my car i found a curling iron under the driver seat
