what's a racing strut?

The JE's are probably lower compression for more boost capacity... which with a stock injector/turbo setup wold make it feel slower. do you know if the block was worked at all? or did he simply put in the pistons... Was it REBUILT? like with new head studs, rod /main bolts and bearings, etc? OE head gasket or heavy duty aftermarket? any head work, new guides, stem seals at least? New chain set or at least tensioners and guides?

If its honstly a nicely built motor with fresh hardware and he replaced some of the wear items and took his time to do it right, then $1000 isnt bad for a 0 miles long block.... IF he did do all the extra things instead of just installing pistons. No sense in buying a motor off some chach who Said he rebuilt it when really everything but the pistons is XX,XXX miles old.

What else does it come with, intake/exhaust manifolds? turbo? alternator? p.s. pump?

Sorry bout that i wasn't very clear in my post. The motor was rebuilt, he put new rods (racing rods 600 dollars supposvely) head studs maine bolts bearings all that, he also bought the JE pistons, wat u said less compression, he said the way its built it can boost sumwhere around 25 pounds an it would laugh at that. I mean i dont kno a lot about that this is my first turbo charged car, but i would think that's a whole lot of boost. He said its built to hold newhere to 600hp. Im obviously prolly not gonna get it to that much im just sayin wat he told me. An this isnt just sum lil kid talkin crap, this guy knows wat hes talkin bout he owns his own shop in miami fl, it has nothin but 240s parked outside hooked up to the d*ck. The motor doesn't come wit a transmission or wiring harness but he said he would get me all of that, the job will be 2,800, motor itself is 1,000. Is that a good deal guys? Or do u think its to good to be true like myself.

i dunno. seems to me if he were lookin to get rid of the motor he could easily sell it on ebay for good cash instead of liquidating it for a grand. I wonder what rods he used... cuz you can get Eagle rods for like $320 and theyre proven performers.

$4000 for a 600hp worthy motor installed is one hell of a deal, evenif it only comes with the turbo and management to support half its potential. Get it in writing that he'll do the swap and provide the necessary accessories for a quick spooling reliable 300whp setup and get him to agree off paper to 30 days of tech support and I'd go for it.

all things considered though, you'd better have your ****in wits about you with a 300hp car if you're a new driver or havent even ridden in anything that fast. stock brakes can fade on you seemingly wayyy too quick if you get silly.
