There is a guy selling a 1995 240sx SE Automatic with 260K miles. Clean Carfax and All original/stock. Compression test/smog/alignment all pass with flying colors. It's pearl white with Carbon fiber hood. Exterior/Paint/Interior all 9/10. He said he would take $2600 Cash. He was asking $3200. Engine/trans feel strong with only very minor leaks. What do you guys think?? :ohno:

The miles are the only downfall to it. If your plannin on swaping it then yea but if not then i would prolly pass it up and the reason being, Its not going to run forever without giving you problems and if it hasnt had any known maintenance then your potentialy going to have to do some to it and while thats a given with any car, your chances stand at a higher risk with that amount of miles. I play it safe and thats my point of view.

Yeah, that's a lot of miles. Assuming the car was otherwise mint, I would be iffy about paying $2500ish. I definitely wouldn't spend $3200!

Thats a rack of miles. I would check it out, and really check it out (dont make my mistake). Paper work also helps and judging by the extremely high milage, thats not the original motor. It might be a good daily.

Ok well I talked to this s*** again and asked him to make sure that its a clean title, because in his ad it says clean carfax/clear title... WELLLLLLL, wouldnt you know it, " I meant there are no dmv back fees, it has a salvage title but i didnt know carfax reported accidents, i thought it was for maintenence and mileage verification, my mistake." i wanted to punch him in the mouth. oh well, i would never pay that much for a salvage so f***, on to the next one.

Any suggestions on year/model of s14 to get? i have about 5K to spend and has to be clean title and black/gray interior.

^ haha good job, he was obviously trying to f*** you.

You can find any 240 for 5k, it just depends on what body style you want. You could probly even find an SR'd S13 for less than 5k, but be wary.

Sure you can find that easily. Craigslist, or even classifieds on this forum. Surely you can travel 30 mins out of your way with a friend. Where is 'around here' anyways?

1 check it in person, check body over, if the body is straight and the paint is clean thats a huge plus, interior clean another plus, that there makes, As for the motor and trans swaps are common and replacements are cheap, more importantly is the ancillary parts, how is the condition of bellows boots, bushings, mounts, hoses, lines etc, and rust under it?

Sacramento, CA.. and I think im just gonna get a skyline or something nicer, money isnt really an issue to a point, i sold my supercharged 2002 BM M3 and i just dont think a 240sx will suffice. but idk, i dont like underestimating a car until i have the opportunity to experience the potential it has. Can you buy an R34 Skyline for around 30K Anywhere? or how much do they go for? i looked a fer years ago and they were goin for like 55K.

A friend said he could get an R32 GTRs for $10,000 all day but I highly suspect a major string attached to that. They probly arent legal anyways. I have seen R34's go up to and beyond $100,000 fully legalized, and depending on trim (a R34 GTR Vspec II was well over 100k).

I think you kind of have to know the right people. Why dont you just put a down payment on a GTR or something

We'll Motorex cars are very limited there are a total of 8 or 9 R32 and R33 GTSTs, and I think about 200 total cars that are grandfathered in under Motorex's crash test and the old eligible vehicle list.

Currently only the Series 2 or 3 R33 GTS models are eligible on the NTHSA's eligible import list. However they need to be converted to meet US specs and ODB2 with US emissions standards. Which is only offered by one company presently at a cost of 30K plus on top of the cost of the car, shipping, RA fee’s tax and bond.

So spend 30-80K for a Motorex car, or spend about 50 to get and convert your own R33
