Hi guys, I'm new here and wanting to buy a used 2005 G35 coupe from a dealer and need to know if $30,950 is a good price. It is a certified preowned, 51,700 miles, fully loaded, 6MT, Nav, 19" wheels, etc... The dealer won't budge and said that was the bottom line price, no less. It seems a bit expensive to me for being close to 3 year old car with over 50k+ miles but wanted to get everyone's opinion here.

Thanks guys!

That is a ****ing rip off. I wasnt gonna pay 22k for one with 31k miles on it that was in 2 accidents. Tell them they suck. Seriously.

You can get a brand new one for $1-2k more

Too much $ for that one...I found one at CarMax for $30,147 with less miles.

Details:2005 Infiniti G35 2D Coupe 6MT19K Color: Red Black Leather

I use Carmax as the high price...you should be able to get the dealership to come down from there in most cases.

Thanks for the input guys.. damn I really wanted it but just couldn't justify spending that much for this car. I was hoping to be able to bring it down a couple grand but the salesman basically told me the lowest he'd go was $30,000, take it or leave it.

I guess its back to looking around some more. Hopefully I will soon be a G35 coupe owner. Thanks again guys!

Hi aitriva,

I checked out the prices at carmax in the Ft Worth/Dallas area they have better prices on their G's. I have an 04, but try going with an 05 or up. They made some nice improvements...I like the temp/radio controls better, I believe they can play MP3's, the 03 and 04s can't and you can get the REV Up engine too!!

Good car hunting!!!

Oh just noticed something in your post...dealers will charge you for the Nav...if you can live without it might save some $$$. My 2 cents.

I bought mine a year ago...05 with 5k miles for $31,500 from a dealer.

I agree with everyone else, that seems a bit steep for the amount of miles...

That's nuts. I bought my 06 6MT w/21k on it no Nav but 19" wheels for 29k from an Infiniti dealer this past May. No accidents and perfect paint.

just out of curiosity, which dealer/ lot are you dealing with in Dallas??

I have an '05 and they are asking too much. I wouldn't buy it.

This was at Grubbs Infiniti in Euless. The salesman I dealt with told me that they are a dealership that doesn't negotiate prices (I found that hard to believe). I mentioned how a new 2007 coupe's base price is just a little more than this and that seemed to have upset him quite a bit. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but that pretty much did it for me, and I left after that.

I found another '05 coupe, this time at a Toyota dealership with Navigation, 24,xxx miles for 28,900. This seems like a better deal but I think I can find something better still. I am guessing it lacks the aero package b/c of it not having a spoiler. But I love the look of a G with a spoiler, are they easy to install and where would you guys recommend finding one if I went ahead and got one without a spoiler?

Thanks everyone!

I was betting you were going to say Sewell. Grubbs is ok. I bought my J30 there new back in '95. I would chalk it up to the salesperson being an a$$hole.

If he has no wiggle room then he doesn't deserve your time or money. Let him sell it to someone stupid enough to pay his price for it.

The other car you mentioned sounds more reasonable. I have about 29k miles and mine would sell for between $30 and $32K considering mine is spotless with all maintenance records.

Keep us posted on what you purchase and post pics.

I thought he would say Crest infiniti in Plano. Went there 1st to buy my car and they absolutely wouldn't work with me at all. Payments would have been 590 month for a lease. I leave the manager calls me back and I say I want it for under 500/month.

he laughs and tels me they arent in the business to lose money.

So I went to sewel and got my brand new 06 for 460 a month, guess they like to lose money

I am the opposite. I would walk to work before buying a car from Sewell. Long story I won't bore you with but they screwed something up on my car and refused to pay for it. This was about 8 years ago but what can I say I hold a grudge.

I bought mine from Crest but only because I sent MEGA business to them and I used that to my advantage so they actually lost money on my car. Anyway, I guess it is personal preference. The Crest sales people can be a$$holes as well (my contact retired and no longer works there so I can say that) but I will tell you that no one beats Crest's service department.

Not as fancy digs as Carl Sewell's customer area's but then again Carl doesn't get rich by giving stuff away so rest assured the fancy surroundings trickle down to your bill when you pick your car up. Knowing Carl Sewell as I do that is a fact!!

I guess I will have to buy the next one at Grubbs, unless I get the A-hole out there and then I am looking out of state. Ha!

when lookijng for my Car i went to Sewell and talked him from 28'700 down to 25'500 the car was certified, but for that price they couldnt sell me the extended warranty.....i chose against it, and got my 04 w/ 34K miles for 23,700.......just gotta know how to talk to them i guess

Oh I know how to talk to them. Sewell's refusal to fix an $800 part on my driver's seat that their 400 lb porter broke when driving my car from the front of the lot to the service bays cost Carl about $300K worth of referral business from my clients over the years that I sent to Crest instead, which is why I got a fully loaded $40K coupe in '05 for $30K. My referral business helped pay for Paul White's (Crest Owner) Bentley Coupe Trust me Sewell Infiniti remembers my name.

Sorry I guess that is off topic. My point is, a better deal can be found around Dallas than that one. I would suggest buying a car on a Monday, if they are coming off a slow weekend then Monday being the first of the week FEELS like a longer week with no end in sight. I have always had good luck with buying a car on a Monday. JMO

Also sounds pretty good depending on condition.Check KBB.Dealers around here list most G's at or just below KBB Full Retail.I would not want to pay more than Private Party and hope to get a little closer to Trade In if possible, but on G's that's tough.
