2 days ago car was driving fine. Went to grocery store, when I came back to the car and fired it up, heard this very audible noise. Drove it home after looking around and not seeing anything out of the ordinary. The car sat overnight and the next morning I fire the car up and the sound is 10x louder.
I replaced the serpentine belt last month with new OEM belt. I sprayed penetrating oil on the rollers and alternator and ac compressor rollers last night and it made no difference in the sound. The sound does not change with AC on or off. The sound does slightly change when accelerating/ revving engine. I do not see any leaks on the ground under the car.
Any help would be highly appreciated. Want to see if this is the water pump, timing chains tensioner or something else.
