Most people say ebay turbos are iffy. If you're turbo is struggling and you've got leaking, the seals are gone and it is time for a new one. The best way to tell is check for shaft play in the turbo. There shouldn't be any at all on a good turbo.

Do you remember the saying, "If its to go to be true...it probally is". Common man 650 for a fmic top, mount manifold, piping, and a turbo buy it a put it on if it lasts longer than 2 blocks i'll pay jessica alba to blow you all night. If you have money to burn and break **** then by all means go for it but i wouldnt put that on my brothers car.

eBay is a frustrating place, for buying any in-demand parts. Most of the good stuff is well picked over thanks to Buy-it-Now. Usually all that is left is the same knockoff parts that get rotated day in and out there. It's good for finding little things here and there, but I wouldn't buy anything for my car that I would consider critical. Turbos, manifolds, etc all involve a lot of work to replace to begin with. Having to spend more $ to replace that 2 weeks later isn't too fun.

That sounds like a boost leak.

I agree with him.

On a side note, Jeff, you are the MAN. My SR is STILL running strong since I bought it from you. I crapped my pants when I did a compression test after beating on it for 50,000 miles and got 160 across the board.

would a boost leak cause a high idle...im also idling at like 1500rpm -1700rpm...what should i check for when looking for a boost leak...should i take the piping off and inspect them?

Yeah it can make the idle go up like that. It happens when I disconnect the vacuum hose to the wastegate while hooking up my boost controller. To find a leak, you can follow that guide that Morph gave you. Or just go over all your clamps and hoses to make sure there's nothing leaking. Sometimes it can be hard to hear for when the engine is running. It can be a hose, intercooler piping couplers not tight enough or cracking, anything between the MAFS and the throttle body.
