I know this is more like a body/frame question, but I hope to get something I don't know here. I have a 98 240sx rear 1/4 panel damaged, as well as the back panel (but the trunk floor panel and bumper reinforcement are alright). Now, I have two choices either to repair the damage on the existing panel, or replace the whole rear 1/4 panel which will be involved in cutting the original panel and reweld it. I'm here to look for profession answer to see which is the way best to put my car back to the original shape (if possible).
I assume if I repair it, then I save the unibody as well as the factory weld job? Moreover, maybe in the future, I can do a body ridity reinforcement which reweld all the frame seams. I heard this is the best and ultimate way to improve the rigidity and it is good for the car overall. I'm not sure if this sound possible, but if it is, I can take this chance to replace the damaged/bented panels? (which will bring my car back the its original shape and even better?)
