Is there any substitute for the SR o2 sensor?

I'm in dire need of an o2 sensor this weekend. I have a redtop, so I need a sensor from a turbo z31... but apparently NO ONE has these in stock. They're all special order. Is there any other sensor that does the job that your average parts store may carry?

very positive this should work, as the sr20de engine came on the 1996 infiniti g20 engine.

Come back with good news.

You think it would? Hmmm... I guess it wouldn't hurt to try. I'll at least look at it in the store.

Also, does anyone know if the s14 o2 sensor has the same pinout on the connector?

Redtop SR's use a skinny type sensor. It's smaller than your blacktop one. Unless he has an aftermarket turbo elbow, he wouldn't be able to use it. Also, some of the sponsors (and a couple of former sponsors) sell OEM skinny and fat type SR O2 sensors for this price or less. ~55+shipping for redtop sensor from thenismoshop.com

don't know for certain, but pretty sure S14 SR O2 sensor is different than either of the S13's Try the 96 G20 one, maybe it will be the right size. Or, try taking your stock one out, go to parts store, look for a bosch universal one that is same size and thread pitch, splice it in. Or overnight a redtop O2 sensor from one of the sponsor that has one in stock.

My local parts stores were out of stock on the g20 sensors. I hate living in a small town lol.

Yeah those are perfect fits for the blacktop SR. There are fat O2, and skinny O2. Skinny ones are on s13 srs, and fat ones are on s14s.

I decided to just order a replacement one. I guess I can wait another week to get my car running

Only REDTOP SR's use the "skinny" type O2 sensor. S13 Blacktop SR's use "fat" O2 sensor

Did you get the one for the turbo model? I got mine from an 86. I heard the 87s had square plugs instead of oval. Take a pic or describe the connector and what wires are involved.
