The only relationship is that they are controlled by the ECU... Completely different things.

Nothing in common! However, if you have partially opened EGR valve, you will have rough idle (up to stalling engine) and all sorts of driveability problems. Once again, IAC and EGR are not relatives P.S What's happening with you ride?Cheers!

In an odd way they are related in that both provide air to the plenum.

Just remember the EGR air while hotter than ambient is very oxygen poor..........just a few % vs 22% in ambient air.

When ecu signals EGR to open, it reduces the amount of IAC addition so the VOLUME is equal. The IAC duty cycle will decrease/increase as the EGR opens and closes.

The ecu assumes the EGR path is clean as new therefore the EGR volume is as new and not reduced by carbon in the pathway.

I asume you are not speaking of Einsteins' Gravitational Redshift = EGR.2 10^-6, equal to a Doppler shift in a runaway motion with a speed of 0.6 km/s for our Sun.

No Symptoms just a CEL for EGR ssstem. I checked the solenoid , cleaned the filthy temp sensor, I cleaned the EGR valve about 14 mos ago.Just picked up a new gasket and will pull the valve and TB this week. The reason why i askesd was that i adjusted my IAC a few mos back was way off idle was high. Just trying to rule things out

what's the DTC number! You have to follow pin-point test when tracing EGR (or similar) driveability concerns! You can guess till the end of the days and never guess it Cheers!
