I found this on ebay and it is pretty interesting package, but I am wondering if any one is using it or dealt with the seller as I am very interested for a new project. Also, what do you think about the turbo?

personally i think the exhaust housing is to big. check out the bodgy clamping position and hoses ??

cars in aus are making over 400 wheel hp with the next size down, either .63 or .64.

i wouldn't mind the exhaust manifold though.

Just FYI, its the same company as SSAutochrome. I just got the equal length bottom mount T28 mani from them, so we'll see how it goes. Rico05's got one and he said the quality was good.

those pictures are not of their kits. they use the pictures of the CA for the SR kits also.... beware of those turbos way to big and i see a lot of bad feed back about crap turbos. a turbo shop im working with is putting togther a cheap T3 setup we should be fitting in soon as the parts are in and the manifold and downpipe get welded up. ill gladly give you their number and see if its somthing that intrests any one here

I know the turbo is big, thats why I have started another post with adding a supercharger to spool up the turbo.I was wondering about the quality/reliability about the turbo.

Thanks,

um, for that price, i would just make an educated guess and say HORRIBLE. maybe if the hiked the price up by about $300 i could start to have some faith in it lasting more than about 2 weeks.

and that is just waaaay too big for the little CA. you would have to stroke the hell out of it, or make it rev to upwards of 10k to be able to make any power with that monster. stick to the ol' t3/t04 combo for big power. its proven.

I'm with these guys as far as the actual turbo goes. I was talking more about the manifold. I didn't really look at the specs on the turbo before either. I'll have a personal opinion on their manifold shortly as I just bought one, but from a turbo standpoint, I think the exhaust side is waaayyy to big, and that price is just too cheap for it to be a quality turbo...

I asked a friend about this kit. This was his reply

Going on purely the spec, it slightly contradicts itself by claiming to have a "Stage 5 turbine wheel" which would be a large version of a T3 turbine (big power capable mind) however the pic looks like a T4 turbine housing (divided tang housing). The 62-1 compressor is big power capable. But, it is not particularly efficient at high boost, which is what you really want, and looking at the map, its certainly happiest around 10-20 psi and it really would not be able to supply 25psi on a CA18DET. It is really a better choice for a large engine needing moddest amounts of boost. You may be able to see what I mean on this calculator which contains the 62-1 map. Just input the bore and stroke of the CA in inches, and assume VE at somewhere between 80-100% and intercooler efficiency at 75-95%. Just put in comp efficiency at 75% to begin with. http://www.turbofast.com.au/turbomap.html

I plan on it. I'm hoping to have it late this week, or early next week. I don't think it will ship till Wed. so it will proababally be next week. I won't have the motor in the car for another month though, so it won't get tested until after that...
