Actually, if you were old enough, you would remember that US market cars of foreign marques were the only ones to have all red tail lamps. Most aficionados would seek out the European tailights with the amber turn signals.Evanarc wrote:Im looking for something different, to make the Q look a little less outdated from behind,
Agreed.qship96 wrote:The whole aftermarket custom tail light look is soo played out, it does nothing but cheapen the look of almost every single car it is applied to.
You should just get a red file tint and cut out the shape of the turn signal and basically tint it red.I was planning that but since im keep amber signals im not.I was going to go white signals in front and red signals in back.Just another idea.Evanarc wrote:guess i'm not an afficinado, but i just want a different look like at least clear turn signal lamps. something a little more uniqueWhere can i get these presidential lamps? if not how do I go about betting the lamps tinted?
Yeah, I have the same problem. A lot of the President guilding seems to be trying to compensate for an inferiorty complex. Just oscillates between MB and Buick so it comes out whack.anlasak wrote: Personally I don't feel the '94 tails to be "outdated", hell I think they look better than the President tail lamps.
That's truly awful unless you are trying to one up George Jetson's hooptie.jltibbs wrote:
That Max is not too bad. The only thing I would change is the yellow film over the fogs. I would have tried a light blue like I've seen on some headlights.maxnix wrote:That's truly awful unless you are trying to one up George Jetson's hooptie.
You saying you dig the space saver spare wheels?sijoko wrote:

Those are actually Altima wheels without the hub caps.maxnix wrote:You saying you dig the space saver spare wheels?
Retro fitted projectors in order to reduce the glare of adding HID's to a non HID housing. Stock bumper lights with tinted film, which was still quite visible even during the day. Stock fog lights with yellow film to limit the reflectiveness in inclement weather.maxnix wrote:The front end is a contrived.....well, disaster is the kindest word which I can recall.
Why? Because there is tint on stock tail lights? Which once again was still quite visible even during the day.maxnix wrote:The rear view, at best, can charitably be described as unfortunate.
I was thrilled. Well with the exception of the fact that the reason I had the steelies was because I had to sell the stock G35 wheels I had on because I needed some cash.maxnix wrote:But hey, if the owner is thrilled, more power to him.
It actually ended in a front end collision, not the aforementioned.qship96 wrote:I dont understand why anyone would want to tint their tail lamps and significantly reduce light output......good luck when you get rammed by a car from behind when that driver couldnt see you in the rain/fog/snowstorm.A lawsuit waiting to happen, and contributory negligence claim to shift resulting property/bodily injury responsibility to the clown who purposly reduced visibility of their lights.
Geez, this is the opposite of having rear fog lamps.....STUPID
Thanks. I prefer real performance. form folowing functiona and all that. Just thought I would post that since I mentioned Junction Produce.
Here are some pics of my tail lights. They're tinted with film. You can order it from a number of different places. Just google "tint film" or "tail light overlay" or something to that effect and you should find lots of options.Evanarc wrote:guess i'm not an afficinado, but i just want a different look like at least clear turn signal lamps. something a little more uniqueWhere can i get these presidential lamps? if not how do I go about betting the lamps tinted?
It looks good. And light output is not THAT impaired. Where I live, there are very strict regulations on tail light visibility and light output. My tinted tails pass safety fine. When the lights are ON, they are near normal brightness. It's when they're OFF that the tint's darkness is desired.qship96 wrote:I dont understand why anyone would want to tint their tail lamps and significantly reduce light output......good luck when you get rammed by a car from behind when that driver couldnt see you in the rain/fog/snowstorm.A lawsuit waiting to happen, and contributory negligence claim to shift resulting property/bodily injury responsibility to the clown who purposly reduced visibility of their lights.
