I replaced mine. Let me see if I can find it and I'll tell you.

I can't find it. I have a feeling it's buried deep within the confines of my closet.

Oh, and they would be outputs.

aux inputs are usually 3.5mm stereo while outputs are usually RCA.... the QX4 / Bose deck has neither

damn is there anything back there that can be easily converted to rca/ 3.5mm jack, preferably without one of those expensive kits?

what are you looking to do?

if its a subwoofer output your looking for you could just tie the RCA wires to your rear speaker channels for some bass to subs.

if your looking at connecting an ipod or MP3....use a tape deck to headphone jack converter, get them at the dollar store. I used mine for well over a year to listen to music from my cell phone, the quality was near CD and i didnt have to tamper with internal wiring

yeah Qxxx, looking to tie the ipod in. I use the cassette tape method right now and I'm pretty happy, but the tapes never seem to last too long. I was looking for a more permanent solution, and thought tying the player directly into the stereo system might produce a cleaner sound, especially considering that as you know I'm starting to upgrade the sound system. I guess I'll just stick with the tape for now though

I just finished researching this, and you're looking for an Auxiliary Input Adapter. Not the cheapest solution but it's plug and play, make sure you research and find the right one for your vehicle (though I think this is the right one):

for that money your better off getting an aftermarket headunit, then youd have proper subwoofer outputs.

Unfortunately I did fall across this before I saw your post to me, but I realize it makes me look like a jerkass nonetheless.

Why not use an FM Modulator?

FM Modulators are really hit and miss, even within the same product line. I had really good luck with my Monster FM modulator for years (it recently toasted), but my fiancée bought the model newer and I got bad static with it. If you use the DC adapter in the centre console it's too far from the antenna (I've found).

A half decent FM Modulator will set you back $70, and with the Auxiliary Input adapter being only $100 that seems like the way to go (unless like me you read Qxxx4's post about his Pioneer deck, then you decide to spend more cash then you originally planned. Seriously don't read his threads, it just makes you want to spend money).

i got a kit and built an FM transmitter, works really good, i might end up using it for my parents' land rover since I have no other use for it really. I did throw on a blue power LED, of course.

the good thing about it is that the PCB was large in size, components are spread out, and theres a 6 inch extendable antenna on it. The reason why these FM transmitters are hit and miss are due to their efforts to keep them small and convenient, Im just going to wire this one under a seat or in the glovebox
