Is there an open gap between the center console layers?

Can anyone confirm, in the center console, between the inside bin and the rear panel, is there a hollow space above the cup holder? I can see there's about 1-1/2" to 2" between the plastic, but I wasn't sure if it was hollow. I want to install two USB chargers for the rear seat occupants to plug in to. Is this feasible? The power is right under it on the lighter socket, so that doesn't concern me.
Can anyone get a picture of the bottom side without the cup holders? Thanks!

I can confirm this there is space but it’s tight. I had to access the space to install the control knob for the footwell lighting. It’s hard to get a hand in there let alone any tools.

Fortunately all I need to get in there is a wire, the chargers snap in the hole. They’re about 1-1/4” deep.

My project was a success. Turns out the rear panel of the center console comes off, giving full access to the inside. I had to modify a few structural braces, nothing serious, just to clear the plugs and wires. I ran the wire under the cup holder and wire tied to the rear brace to secure it. I then made a t-harness to plug into the power plug in the center console. The USB charger now has switched power to the power port.
