Carlos Ghosn will be remembered for his legendary approach to managing an auto company. Without Nissan, at least in recent memory, performance, luxury, and handling would never have been this affordable for the common man. They raised the bar on horsepower and affordability in daily drivers like their G-35 Infiniti and 350Z, and since then other manufacturers, even BMW seem to be struggling with performance, luxury and affordability. Well done Nissan!

Carlos Ghosn is now about to up the ante in electric cars. Oil companies must be shaking in their pants by now. Can't wait for Nissan to produce the torquiest electric car in the market, at a price that will make the world blink twice. Waiting eagerly for the Nissan performance electric vehicles.

Because you can make electricity from just about anything (coal, oil, natural gas, wind, tides, dams, nuclear, fuel cell, solar........) electric cars make sense if we are going to be energy independent. Batteries have gotten much better, but still need some work. Hybrids seem to offer better versatility, and longer range. I see three classes emerging: all electric city cars, plug-in hybrids with 100 mile battery range before the motor needs to kick in, and Prius like with the battery power supplemental to the gas motor.

From a performance car perspective, wow. Put high torque electric motors at each wheel and away you go. Independent four wheel drive! The only thing missing will be the G's wonderful varoom.
